Asha School, Education and Care for Children with Intellectual Disabilities
Created as part of my final degree project, this documentary highlights the work of Asha Foundation / Familia de Hetauda, an NGO in Nepal that provides education, therapy, and emotional support to children with intellectual disabilities. Through daily life at the school and interviews with staff and families, the film captures the importance of inclusion, dignity, and long-term commitment in a context where disability is often stigmatized.

Reels for social media (work in progress, they will be soon here)
These short-form videos were created for Familia de Hetauda. I produced these reels to raise awareness, share daily moments at the center, and highlight the importance of inclusion and care. While I led the creative direction and filming, some pieces were edited in collaboration. Each video was designed to connect emotionally with audiences on social media and reflect the values of the organization.
Volunteering in Nepal
This reel was produced for Familia de Hetauda as part of their communication strategy to invite international volunteers. The video features footage I filmed during my stay at the center, focusing on the daily work of volunteers and the local women training to become special education teachers.
In Nepal, there are no formal studies in special education, and job opportunities for women are very limited. That’s why the NGO is committed to training them as teachers—so that knowledge stays within the community and can grow from within.
This video was designed to reflect that message: volunteers don’t come to "help" in the traditional sense, but to share, guide, and empower. I aimed to capture this spirit through emotive visuals and storytelling tailored for Instagram.
Learning and Belonging
Aman, Ashlesh, Subarna, and Rohan are learning, growing, and finding their place in the world. But many other children are still waiting for their chance.
This reel was created to highlight the impact of inclusive education at Familia de Hetauda. Through simple, emotional storytelling, it invites viewers to reflect and take action. The message is clear: the more people this reaches, the closer we are to making a difference for more children.
I filmed and edited this piece to connect with audiences on a personal level, using visual cues and music to evoke empathy and hope.
Maha Shivaratri Celebration
Filmed during one of the most meaningful Hindu festivals, this reel captures the spirit of Maha Shivaratri at Asha School. Under the moonlight and by the warmth of the bonfire, the children shared a magical evening filled with joy, devotion, and tradition.
They received the traditional tilak on their foreheads, listened to the sound of bells, and celebrated surrounded by community and love. Maha Shivaratri honors Lord Shiva and symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness.
As a volunteer, I had the chance to document this special moment and preserve it for the families, the organization, and its supporters. This video was created to celebrate cultural identity and foster emotional connection with the audience through social media.
