This photo series documents the vibrant life of Nepal beyond postcards and stereotypes. It focuses on candid scenes of daily routines, local markets, and the faces that shape the country's atmosphere. Shot with a documentary approach, the images seek to convey authenticity, intimacy, and cultural richness.
This series offers a glimpse into daily life and spirituality in Nepal. The first photographs were taken around Boudhanath Stupa in Kathmandu, one of the largest and most sacred Buddhist sites in the world. Here, the rhythm of prayer wheels, the soft repetition of mantras, and the presence of monks create a unique atmosphere of devotion and peace.
Moving through streets and markets, the series shifts focus to everyday moments: gestures, textures, and fleeting expressions that reflect the soul of the country. Rather than a touristic view, these images seek to portray the dignity, silence, and humanity found in both sacred and ordinary spaces.
All photographs were taken with a Nikon Z6 II and a 24–70mm lens, using only natural light
On the hills surrounding Hetauda, women carry out the weight of both labor and tradition. These photographs document moments of physical effort and quiet strength: three women transporting large bundles of leaves for animal feed, and two others captured in still portraits during a break from work.
Their expressions speak of resilience, dignity, and a deep connection to the land. In rural Nepal, women are often at the center of both family life and agricultural work, their contribution is essential, yet often invisible.
These images aim to reflect their presence with honesty and respect, highlighting not only the hardship but also the quiet power and grace embedded in their everyday lives.
